Temu plans to charge merchants a 5‰ service fee for the actual costs paid by customers for each order as the popular e-commerce site expands rapidly outside China. The Friend’s Mothers 4term is included in the recently issued “customer service outsourcing agreement,” which sellers operating in Temu must sign to ensure service quality within their stores. According to the agreement, the service fee will not be refunded if an order is refunded. In comparison, mainstream cross-border platforms like Shopee and AliExpress typically charge commissions of around 5%, varying depending on the product category. The newly introduced service fee has a “greater impact” on products with low gross margins, cited a merchant from Temu, as reported by Chinese outlet Jiemian. [Jiemian, in Chinese]
