TechCrunch first reported the new feature, which Systrom confirmed on Twitter. Their report was based on the app sleuth Jane Manchun Wong, who found the feature, as well as the underlying code.

Just a week prior, Google unveiled a slew of Android features meant to ease screen addiction. It can also monitor usage time, and even remind you, if you want, to put down your dang phone.
With Instagram's update, we'll soon know more about how we use the app with an endless infinite feed. But whether that knowledge will actually make us stop scrolling is yet to be seen.
