BYD006 ArchivesJan. 18 began taking orders for its Sealion 7 sports utility vehicles in India, with a deposit of 70,000 Indian Rupees ($809). The firm plans to announce the full price for the vehicle next month with delivery scheduled to begin in March. China’s biggest electric vehicle maker made the announcement at the ongoing 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo in New Delhi, where it showcased the Sealion, as well as its ultra-premium off-road vehicle the Yangwang U8, according to a report by the Times of India. Both variants of the Sealion crossover are powered by an 82.56 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack, giving it a driving range of up to 567 kilometers (352 miles) on a full charge, the report said. Having launched several models such as the Atto 3 crossover and the Seal sedan in India, the Chinese automaker is aiming to have 40 dealerships in the country by the end of this month, according to Rajeev Chauhan, head of electric passenger vehicle business at BYD India.
