Self-driving truck technology provider TuSimple said on Watch Sex (1994) Part 1Thursday that it will create the first animated feature-length movie and video game based on The Three-Body Problem, an award-winning novel already adapted for drama by Netflix and Tencent Video. The surprise crossover collaboration comes after China-linked TuSimple voluntarily delisted from the Nasdaq in February, when it said it is undergoing a transformation that it believes can be better navigated as a “private company than as a publicly traded one.” According to TuSimple’s announcement posted to its WeChat account, it has signed a partnership with Shanghai Three Body Animation Firm, and will leverage the autonomous driving tech it has accumulated in the past years to focus on generative AI applications in media and gaming. The Three-Body Problem project signals the founding of a new GenAI-centered unit within TuSimple, the company says, while highlighting no plan to exit transportation. [TuSimple, in Chinese]
